Big Day Riding the Bus to a New School

Big Morning!  The boys started at their new school today!  They get to ride the bus!  We got up early and I cooked them pancakes, sausage and bacon.  They indulged in some of the delicious milk from our new favorite Shatto Dairy.  Below is Coffee, Chocolate and Root Beer.  YUM!  Turner loves the Chocolate and Trev loves the Root Beer.  As for me the Coffee is my fave!  I want to try Banana next!

The boys knew they would miss Honey while they were gone at school so they gave her lots of love this morning...

I am off to make a crockpot full of White Chili.  I can't find my recipe so I am just winging it.  Totally my style.  I will let you know how that goes!

Well back again!  I got the Chili made...smells delicious!

I browned up some 90% lean Angus Beef, Honeysuckle White ground Turkey and coarsely ground 85% lean ground beef {1 lb. of each} with an onion, garlic salt and some Spice Islands Beau Monde Seasoning  - my new fave!  I cut this in half to freeze a batch so that the next time we want Chili I just throw into the crock pot!

I then put in 2 cans of navy beans drained, 2 cans of kidney beans drained, 2 cans of northern white beans with the juice, 2 cans of Rotel with Cilantro and Green Chiles, 2 cans of green chiles, 2 cans of cream of chicken soup and one can of water.  I then chopped fresh cilantro and stirred it all up - turned it on low and let her go!

We topped it with sour cream, fresh cilantro and mexican cheese blend - so YUMMY!

 The boys got home just fine on the bus.  They had a great first day at their new school and were starving.  They said the best part of the day was eating in the "restaurant style cafeteria" and the worst part was that this school does not do a "snack" break.  

So, mom gave in and let them help make Snickerdoodles for snack with hot cocoa!  Perfect ending to a great first day at school.  Warm and cozy on a rainy day!

Tomorrow is Taylor's 21st Birthday - not sure what is on the menu as he has requested a home cooked meal and yummy dessert in lieu of going out to a restaurant. Gotta put my thinking cap on!
